I got the Moonstone jacket for around $70. I bought it from a friend who got it at a Hansen Mountaineering sale. It was a pretty sweet deal. The big sales are definitely the way to go.

If you are an REI member you can usually find down jackets for less than $100 at their "garage sales." If you don't care what color it is (mine is a yucky green, but oh so warm!), just keep your eyes open and stores always have them on sale especially in the spring. Good luck!

On Mt. Rainier, we won't let a client past 10,000 feet without a poofy down jacket--your life depends on it! Unfortunately, they're always kinda pricey. How much did this one run you? Any ideas how to get one for less than $100?
